Just another reminder of why I hate taking
public transport. We're supposed to be a
first world country, yet graciousness and
common courtesy seem to have been lost in
the process. This level of idiocy and incivility
just serves as a reminder to why I hate this
stinkin' place.
Ok, so I'm carrying my big A2 sized bag,
because I had to go get some mounting
boards for a project. dead tired and rather
grumpy because it was so hot out, I was
delighted to see my bus approaching. Then
I spotted this aunty with typical written all
over her. Knowing the bus would probably
stop where I was standing, I stood my
ground and was pretty sure my huge bag
would get in the way. Sure enough, as the
bus was stopping, she tried to rush to be the
first one up, then tripped over my bag and
almost fell over. *snickersmirk*
I'm not evil. It just irks me when people rush
to be the first one up, pushing past
everyone's way in the process. It's just plain
rude.
The same goes for the train.
I stand obediently behind the demarcated
area allowing alighting passengers space to
move, when the people behind me just rush
past and barge their way in. What gives?! Do
people actually realize how completely and
utterly rude that is? The fact that everybody
does it, doesn't make it okay.
This is another fine example: The other day,
I was about to alight the train and waiting for
the doors to open, I could see a middle aged
couple on the other side of the doors
standing RIGHT SMACK in the middle.
*groan* Great, more morons.
There's a kicker. Wait for it, wait for it..
As the doors opened and the lady wanted to
barge in, I heard the man tell her in
Mandarin, "This is Singapore. This isn't China."
Oh, the audacity!
Oy vey.
